Go local - attend a school board meeting or a city/county council/commissioners meeting. Go with a few friends. Share your concerns.
There’s a lot of content coming at all of us right now, some of it telling us how we “should” be feeling, some using scare tactic language. Do your own personal grounding exercise. Notice how YOU feel about what’s going on. Your feelings are valid. We all have different reactions to things, this big political nightmare included. If you’re scared, get safe, in the moment. If you’re angry, find a way to let that out. If you’re sad, let yourself cry. Circle back to action when you’re grounded.
Plant a Resistance Garden - feed yourself, your family, your friends, your neighbors.
If you have a US flag, hang it upside down. If you don’t feel okay doing that, get a Star Wars Rebel Alliance flag and hang that! It’s a symbol of what we’re fighting for.
Go outside and watch the sunset.
Go to the trees you love and just stand with them. If you don’t have trees you love, find some. Trees are amazing symbols and I believe they have energy we tap into. Try it. If it doesn’t work for you, find something else in nature that does.
Play with your children, your grandchildren, any children you have around you. Children have so much to teach us. One thing being that play is healing. Play is healthy.
Talk about your concerns to the people you talk to every day. Name what is happening, say how it’s impacting you and people you know. Ask how it’s impacting them. Listen.
Wear a t-shirt that represents something that matters to you right now. An issue you deeply identify with or care about.
Make your own tiny protest sign and keep it where you will see it every day.
Every time you feel scared, angry, sad, upset about what is going on in our country, add one word to whatever is going through your mind. RESIST. Then take one action.

That bad news pull
Us under. I like thinking of how I can take some small steps to resist. Calling has been therapeutic for me. I don’t worry about a script. I just talk as a concerned grandmother and somehow it holds more weight for me. I am concerned about our next generation. We can’t let them lose all hope.
